Beginning in 2015, @people.pruner was born out of the all too common experience of queer people getting haircuts they don't want. Hair is a deeply personal part of us, and many people express their identity through it. Too often, queer people particularly are denied the haircut they want when they go to a salon or barber. What could be a deeply rich partnership between client and stylist becomes a transactional and unwanted alteration. @people.pruner is about recognizing the profoundly intimate experience of having someone not just witness and touch, but also cut and transform your hair and thus your presentation.

This project is about us looking out for one another. I primarily accept donations, artistic exchanges, or nothing but the honor of the responsibility for these experiences.
