This chapbook explores the internal landscape of a person plagued by the mania of their loved one, and the subsequent dissociation they rely on to resist falling into existential dread. The author explores love, shame, queerness, loss, and longing, carving a home for the nuance of feelings that live within us as we experience multiple traumas stacking upon one another, with seemingly no one to turn to but ourselves.

At times the poems may feel disjointed, mirroring the ways the subject dissociates and jumps between thoughts to avoid reality and hide from their own vulnerability.

The collection is split into two sections. The first explores more of the internal dread and lonely worries of the subject, while the latter explores a personal process of growth, letting go, and healing.
